This new-build residential scheme is situated in London’s Lee Valley, adjacent to Rammey Marsh Lake. Initially, Livingston Eyre prepared a landscape masterplan and detailed Phase One for St James Homes. The remainder of the site was bought by Circle Anglia Homes, and the design team was employed by Galliford Try to complete all phases, including a first-floor podium garden.
The streetscape has been designed as a series of squares, each with its own character. The western section is a ‘homezone’ where layout and paving enable pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to share the spaces safely.
Near the lake is a new green space of sculpted lawns, punctuated by waves of native and wildlife-friendly wetland planting. Margins of damp wildflower meadow extend from the lake habitat into the park, settling the development into its surroundings.
